Our distillery is in full swing! On these days, different fruits are turned into fine brandies. We warmly invite you to look over our distiller's shoulder as they work.
Sun terrace
On the sun terrace, the cooking of Engel Obertal comes together with fresh Black Forest air and a view of the greenery. Beside the fountain, this is a place for unhurried hours and mild evenings spent dining under the open sky.
Weather permitting, the sun terrace is open during our restaurant service times. We serve breakfast from 8 am to 11 am, the lunch buffet from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, coffee and cake from 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm, the snack menu from 12 noon to 10 pm and à la carte from 6:30 pm to 9 pm.
Our menus
Our à la carte menu changes with the seasons. You will find summery starters and soups, fish from the Black Forest and further afield, and meat dishes ranging from Swabian Zwiebelrostbraten, a rump steak with roasted onions, to saddle of venison. There are vegetarian dishes too, and something sweet to finish.

When the days grow warmer and the evenings longer, life at Engel Obertal moves outdoors. On the sun terrace, the fountain splashes softly while you look out at the countryside around you. Out here, a light dish at lunchtime, coffee and cake in the afternoon or a glass of wine in the evening tastes a little more like time away. Relaxed and quiet, right in the heart of the Black Forest.
