Glasmacherstube

The Glasmacherstube recalls the Buhlbach valley's important place in the history of glassmaking and the invention of the champagne bottle. The separate room holds up to 28 people and offers a special atmosphere for enjoyable evenings and private occasions.

Our restaurant service times: breakfast from 8 am to 11 am, lunch buffet from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, coffee and cake from 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm, snack menu from 12 noon to 10 pm and à la carte from 6:30 pm to 9 pm. On Sundays and public holidays we also serve à la carte from 12 noon to 1:30 pm.

Our menus

Our à la carte menu changes with the seasons. You will find summery starters and soups, fish from the Black Forest and further afield, and meat dishes ranging from Swabian Zwiebelrostbraten, a rump steak with roasted onions, to saddle of venison. There are vegetarian dishes too, and something sweet to finish.

Where history comes alive

The Glasmacherstube takes up a special chapter in the story of the Buhlbach valley. A bottle was once made here whose shape had a decisive influence on the production and storage of champagne. That local history is reflected in the design and atmosphere of the room. Regional craftsmanship and an elegant interior come together with the cooking of Engel Obertal in a place that tells of where it comes from and is entirely at home in the present.
